Ingredients

Scale

Sliders

  • 6 large eggs, scrambled
  • 8 ounces ground pork sausage, cooked
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked and crumbled (about 1 cup)
  • 1 cup (113 g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 package (12-count) King’s Hawaiian Rolls

Cowboy Butter

  • 1 recipe cowboy butter, melted (divided for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare baking dish. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray or grease a 7×11-inch baking dish to prevent sticking and set aside.
  2. Place bottom halves of rolls in pan. Slice the King’s Hawaiian Rolls horizontally and place the bottom halves evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Pour cowboy butter over rolls. Drizzle approximately 2 tablespoons of melted cowboy butter evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls to add moisture and flavor.
  4. Top with fixings. Layer the scrambled eggs evenly over the buttered rolls, followed by cooked ground pork sausage, crumbled bacon, and shredded sharp cheddar cheese for a delicious, hearty filling.
  5. Add top of rolls and brush with cowboy butter. Place the top halves of the rolls over the layered fillings and brush the tops with an additional 2 tablespoons of melted cowboy butter to promote browning and flavor.
  6. Cover and bake. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil to retain moisture and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove foil and bake again. Take off the foil and continue baking for another 3 to 5 minutes or until the tops of the sliders turn a beautiful golden brown.
  8. Slice and serve. Remove from oven, slice the sliders individually, and serve warm. Optionally, brush remaining cowboy butter on top or use it for dipping to enhance the rich flavors.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh ground pork sausage and thick-cut bacon to ensure robust flavor.
  • King’s Hawaiian Rolls provide a sweet, soft contrast to the savory fillings; do not substitute with dense bread.
  • Cowboy butter is a flavorful butter-based sauce often containing garlic, herbs, and spices; prepare it ahead of time or purchase a similar pre-made compound butter.
  • These sliders can be prepared the night before and baked fresh in the morning for convenience.
  • Adjust cheese type if desired, but sharp cheddar provides an ideal melty, tangy taste.
