Ingredients

Scale

Hot Honey Mixture

  • 1/4 cup honey (80g)
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (such as Frank’s or Cholula)
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust for taste preference)

Pizza Base and Toppings

  • 2 garlic-infused flatbreads
  • 1/2 cup tomato-based pizza sauce (130g, add more if desired)
  • 2 cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella (180g, use more if needed)
  • 12 slices pepperoni (or as preferred)
  • Sliced black olives (optional)
  • Fresh jalapeños (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 220°C (430°F). Place the oven tray inside to ensure it gets nice and hot. This is essential to help crisp up the base of the flatbread pizza while baking.
  2. Prepare the Hot Honey: In a small bowl, combine the honey, hot sauce, and chili flakes. Warm the mixture in the microwave for 10-20 seconds until slightly heated, then stir well. Allow it to cool before using. Alternatively, you can warm the mixture on the stove by simmering it briefly and then letting it cool. Adjust the chili flakes and hot sauce amount to your desired spice level.
  3. Assemble the Pizzas: Spread a generous layer of tomato-based pizza sauce evenly over each flatbread. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then layer pepperoni slices evenly. Add optional sliced black olives and fresh jalapeños as desired. To prevent the pepperoni from curling up during baking, you can place a few extra pieces of mozzarella cheese on top of the pepperoni slices.
  4. Bake the Pizzas: Carefully remove the hot tray from the oven and place the assembled flatbread pizzas directly onto it. Return the tray to the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges of the flatbreads appear lightly charred and the cheese is melted, golden, and bubbly.
  5. Finish with Hot Honey: Once baked, remove the pizzas from the oven and drizzle your prepared hot honey evenly over the top to taste. Save any leftover hot honey for future use—you can keep it refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Adjust chili flakes and hot sauce quantities in the hot honey to control spice level.
  • Using a hot oven and preheated tray helps achieve a crispy flatbread base.
  • Adding extra mozzarella on top of pepperoni prevents curling and uneven cooking.
  • Leftover hot honey can be refrigerated and reused on other dishes like roasted veggies or grilled meats.
  • Optional toppings like olives and jalapeños add additional flavor and texture but can be omitted for a milder pizza.
