Ingredients

Scale

Dressing

  • ⅓ cup plain Greek Yogurt
  • ⅔ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon dill (fresh or dried)
  • 1.5 tablespoons ranch seasoning
  • ¼ cup avocado oil
  • 1 tablespoon pickle juice
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Salad

  • 5 cans (3 oz each) skipjack tuna (preferably dill pickle flavored from Wild Planet) or 3 cans (5 oz each) plain tuna
  • 8 oz protein pasta (small shapes like shells or macaroni)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup scallions/green onions, thinly sliced (about 3 stalks)
  • ½ cucumber, diced (English or standard)
  • Additional salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Prepare the 8 oz protein pasta according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and rinse under cold water to cool it quickly and stop the cooking process.
  2. Make the dressing: In a bowl or mason jar, combine Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, white vinegar, lemon juice, dill, ranch seasoning, avocado oil, pickle juice, and ½ teaspoon salt. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated into a smooth dressing.
  3. Combine salad ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the cooked pasta, tuna (either 5 small cans or 3 standard cans), minced garlic, sliced scallions, and diced cucumber. Stir everything together evenly.
  4. Add dressing and season: Pour the prepared dressing over the salad mixture and toss thoroughly to coat all ingredients. Taste the salad and add additional salt as needed to suit your preference.
  5. Chill and serve: Cover the salad and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Serve chilled and enjoy as a light and delicious meal or side dish.

Notes

  • Using dill pickle flavored tuna enhances the dill and pickle taste, but plain tuna works well too.
  • Protein pasta can be substituted with regular pasta if preferred.
  • Allowing the salad to chill improves the flavor development.
  • Adjust ranch seasoning and pickle juice to taste depending on desired tanginess.
  • For added crunch, consider adding diced celery or chopped bell peppers.
